Rockpool...Thanks Ruth!! :)

A huge thanks to my friend Ruth of Birdlandcreations (direct link to her blog on the sidebar, in the merry-go-rounders section) whose comment on another pendant (Atlantis) sparked off this 'Rockpool'... The tiny feet dangling near the surface up above try to give an idea of how huge this rockpool is... There are mother-of-pearl anemones and fish playing hide and seek, starfish basking in the sunlight seeping through... Hope you like it :)



Rockpool est directement inspiré d’un commentaire de ma copine Ruth de Birdlandcreations (lien direct sur son blog dans la section Merry-Go-Rounders) sur mon pendentif Atlantis. Étant donné que Rockpool ne se traduit pas aussi succinctement en français (rockpool = petite cuvette d’eau de mer que l’on trouve dans les rochers), j’ai garde le mot anglais pour nommer le pendentif…
J’ai essayé de donner l’illusion d’une ‘rockpool’ immense, vue des profondeurs, avec 2 petits pieds qui font doucement poupouille près de la surface, de la nacre en guise d’anémones, des étoiles de mer qui profitent des rayons de soleil qui plongent en flèches jusqu'à elles, et des tas de petits poissons et autres qui jouent a cache-cache dans les petites crevasses… J’espère qu’il vous plait !

Merry-Go-Round...

My favourite publication is the French magazine "DREAMS" (it exists in English too), a mag that specializes in making me drool and dribble over rivers of diamonds, ruby flowers and other architectural beauties that only the world of Haute Couture Joaillerie is able to produce...

As money is no object in the world of Haute Joaillerie, in "Dreams" you get to see the absolutely mind blowing folding, draping and sculpting of gold, incrusted in fine stones, 3D flowers and organic rings with a living plant growing on your finger, the pendants turn and twist and transform, feathery watches look just about to take off, truly princesses and Queens' adornments. It is a constant source of inspiration to me. Together with informative well written articles (some in French AND English), and advertising pages that play on words and use puns to grab your attention, you get a feast for the eyes on each page. Truly amazing! It makes me want to go further with wire-wrapping, to learn new techniques and mix skills to get to that ultimate WOW factor. When I get there, I'll have achieved my goal... :)

And if there are websites or blogs that have become very important to me in tems of inspiration...They are yours, Merry-go-Round Girls! Where else do you find textures and unbelievable colour combos (Mariana, Sara, Charlotte and Lily), charm and softness (Agathe and Jenny), an amazing eye and how to look at things in a different way (Wendren), and an unbelievable skilfull sculptor on a tiny scale (Ruth)? So there you have it girls, you're my bible!

Atlantis

A quartz disc dyed a science-fiction blue is here placed in an organic bezel to resemble an underwater relic of a legendary sunken world, a piece of Atlantis itself maybe, bejeweled with fossilized and calcified shells and starfish thousands of years old…



Un disque de quartz d’un bleu de science-fiction est organiquement serti pour ressembler à une relique sous-marine d’un monde légendaire englouti, un morceau d’Atlante même peut-être, auxquels se seraient attachés, pendant des milliers d’années, des centaines de coquillages et d’étoiles de mer qui se seraient calcifiées, fossilisées…

Cocktail ring/ Une bague pour en mettre plein la vue...

In this ring, the Amazon forest awakens but we only see a glimpse of the brightly colored fauna and flora unfolding and stretching amidst the oversized greenery… A big eye hootie owl alone and in full view, allows itself a few moments of rest after its night’s hunt…



La forêt amazonienne regorge d’espèces plus exotiques et aux couleurs plus chatoyantes les unes que les autres. Les voir cependant, tient plus de la magie que de l’observation patiente… Dans cette bague, la forêt se réveille et on n’aperçoit que des flashs de couleurs indiquant que la faune et la flore se déplie et s’étire, cachée dans la verdure… Seul une chouette aux grands yeux s’autorise à découvert quelques instants de repos après sa chasse nocturne…

Sundown and Paddle/Coucher de soleil et Pieds dans l'eau

2 new cocktail rings, the huge red one is already sold...
The little Carribean blue one has tiny feet paddling away in it, to remind you that summer's not far away... it's already here in Turkey, but I shall not depress you further by mentionning 30 degrees and bright sunshine... HAHAHA!!





2 bagues cocktail, la rouge est déjà vendue (merci Christelle!!!), et la petite (petite, mouais…), aussi bleue qu’une Mers des Caraïbes, est une bague spéciale vacances, pour vous rappeler que l’été n’est plus très loin ! Ici en Turquie, il fait déjà 30 degrés et je bronze malgré moi, mais bon, je suis sure qu’il fait aussi beau chez vous… HAHAHA !

Crepuscule/Twilight...

J'adore les bagues, en particulier les grosses bagues, voir même les TRÈS TRÈS grosses bagues, le genre avec lesquelles on se sent habillée, même en étant toute nue...



I love rings, cocktail rings in particular, and especially the VERY HUGE cocktail rings, the ones which make you feel all dressed up, even if you're naked...
